What? A collection of non-current records of Park that are preserved in a safe place because of their continuing value, such as Board of Trustee minutes (from incorporation in 1923), curriculum outlines, old attendance books, class lists, audits, Project REASON T-shirts (!), Parents' Association notebooks, May Day programs, Parent Handbooks, accreditation studies, movies/videos, admission catalogs (starting in the 1920's), sports uniforms, play programs (1937 to present, with big gaps in 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's). A file for each Park class (1930 to present) includes memorabilia, anthologies, graduation program, copies of special projects or activities and the like. Even a football helmet from the 1950's! Many, many other categories.
We also have bound copies of: The Park Parent (1969 to present), Yearbook, Anthology (1967 to present), Parking Space (1929-54, with some gaps), Annual Report, CAAP Calendar, Bulletin, and various student publications over the years.
What else? A photo file for every Park class, starting with the Class of 1950 (earlier classes by decade), includes class group photos and photos of individual students and activities. A photo collection of events (Yule Festival, for example), academic departments, plays, sports, buildings and grounds, including historic photos of Park's early campuses.
Where? Two places: in a cluttered little closet off the west vestibule of the theater and in the former girls' P.E. office next the the big gym in the Main Building. Both areas eventually will have proper shelving for Park's collections.
