More resutls are coming in!

1 - The “Recycling Rangers” at Poinciana Elementary in Key West, Florida just finished up their CCC. 26 third graders canceled 481 catalogs. They saved 6 trees and almost 6,000 gallons of water. Special props to Mr. Hodges’ class (below) for canceling 82. And thanks to Nancy Coward for helping organize.

Amy writes, “Troop 1139 collected and canceled catalogs as part of their “Eco-Action” merit badge. They told neighbors and family members about the project and watched the catalogs roll in for a full month. They collected 96 catalogs. We have canceled and recycled them. This is a great project. I hope it keeps spreading. I found canceling the catalogs almost addictive on CatalogChoice.org!”

Emma S. of Prairie Elementary says, “Canceling catalogs is a great and fun way to save the environment with your troop!” To top off the badge, they planted trees at a Girl Scout camp to help replace the trees wiped out in the world by catalog manufacturing.” Way to go 1139!

3 - Some Cub Scouts from Long Island, New York contacted me to ask if Cub Scouts can join. Absolutely. Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, elementary schools, high schools, soccer teams, churches, ANYONE! All are welcome. In fact, a whole town in New Jersey might join. It’s a fabulous, free, and easy project leading up to Earth Day on April 22, if you’re looking…
