We seek college graduates who are either committed to pursuing teaching as a profession or who have past experience working with children and wish to explore a teaching career. As a school that values diversity, Park looks for candidates from a variety of backgrounds. Successful interns are energetic, take initiative, exhibit strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrate a willingness to work hard. They must be invested in the process of learning, possess the flexibility to work in a fast-paced school environment, and have a sense of humor.
For interns who wish to earn a master's degree concurrently with the internship program, Park cooperates with several area colleges offering degree programs. Graduates of a degree program can become certified in Massachusetts in early childhood, elementary, or middle school education. All interns may apply for faculty grants toward coursework and other professional development activities.
