Park School Community Service Committee

The goal of the Community Service committee is to support the Park School's efforts to raise awareness of societal problems and empower students to make a difference.

Committee-led drives and events complement the service learning curriculum in addressing local, national and international needs related to homelessness, hunger, elder care, literacy, healthcare, animal welfare and global emergency relief. We also arrange for morning meeting speakers on local and international issues and from our targeted organizations to help educate the community.

There are many different opportunities for involvement: join the committee, help lead a project, or just participate with your children in an event. We strive to further build "community within community."

Many of our events involve redirecting gently-used goods, such as winter clothing and sports equipment, or creating meals and "hand-made" items for individuals and organizations in need.

The Committee involves all interested parents and always welcomes new members to its monthly meetings (held on the first Wednesday of the month at 8:30AM in the dining room).

At our meetings, we discuss upcoming projects and highlight ways to get involved. We welcome all levels of participation and new ideas. If you are interested in participating, but can't attend a meeting, please send an email to PA_CommunityService@ParkSchool.org.
