PA Green Committtee

The Park Green Committee’s mission is to nurture, support, and initiate parent-led green activities and sustainable practices within the school community and to help raise the level of environmental literacy within the student body.

Our Committee has been inspired by the many compelling successes experienced at K-12 schools around the country that show that green themes resonate with and engage their school communities. The Green Committee began in September 2007 with a creative and environmentally-friendly new fundraiser for the School – replacing the paper-intensive gift-wrap fundraiser with student-made art cards on recycled paper. In addition, we have encouraged a catalog-canceling challenge across several grades, selling recycled products at the Park Plaza, further supporting recycling and composting in Lower School classrooms, and working closely with faculty to find authentic opportunities for students to get outside and connect with their own natural backyard.

We welcome your ideas and suggestions and encourage you to join the Committee. Please email committee co-chairs Blyth Lord and Nicole Murray at green_committee@parkschool.org if you are interested.
