Prior to grade VI, we do not require students to work on computers at home. Starting in grade VI, an increasing amount of work is expected to be done with a computer at home. Students without a computer for financial reasons should speak with their advisor to arrange to borrow one from the school.
AppleWorks
Our standard student and teacher "office suite" software is Appleworks. This software can be installed on either Apple Macintosh or Microsoft Windows computers. Our school license permits students to install Appleworks at home, free of charge. Students in grades VI through IX are strongly encouraged to borrow the installation CD from the school library and install it at home.
FirstClass Client
FirstClass Client is the free software used to gain access to Park OnLine, our internal e-mail and bulletin board system. All students in grades VI through IX are expected to use Park Online to facilitate the transfer of computer files between school and home, to communicate with faculty and each other, and to gain access to various internal school web pages. All parents are also invited to request a Park OnLine account and to use FirstClass Client. You can get it free of charge via the following web site, or by borrowing the installer CD from our school library.
