As a school that values the dignity of all members of our community, we commit to creating a strong sense of belonging in all classrooms. We are a community of life-long learners who strive to improve our practice through sustained reflection and evaluation of our instructional practices.

Underway

  • Immediate priority: Utilize student data at the school-wide, divisional, and grade-levels to inform professional development, curricular choices, and instructional practice. [Lead: Head of School]

Short Term

  • 2020-2021 priority: Review and revise the current teacher supervision and evaluation model. Create and incorporate standards for multicultural, inclusive, and antiracist practice so that all students experience true belonging in all classrooms. [Lead: Assistant Head for Academics & Program]

  • 2020-2021 priority: Evaluate and revise as necessary systems for sectioning, communication with families, classroom setup and behavioral agreements, and student support. Track student progress to ensure that all learners’ needs are equitably met as they strive for academic excellence. [Lead: Division Heads]

Medium Term

  • 2020-2022 priority: Seek, with education and support, to create inclusive classroom practices for the safety and belonging of all students. [Lead: Division Heads]

  • 2020-2022 priority: Invest in professional development and instructional goal setting focused on differentiation in the classroom to create a supportive and effective heterogeneous learning environment. [Lead: Director of Instructional Practice]
