The Park School Administrative Team and Board of Trustees are committed to advancing equity & inclusion in the School's policies and practices. The School's leadership examines individual, collective, and institutional bias, and actively works to ensure that our diverse community is reflected in the composition of the Administration, Board, and employee body. Our clear commitment to learn, change, and remain vigilant in the pursuit of equity and justice in our School will best advance this work. 

IN PRACTICE


  • Prioritize the recruitment of People of Color to serve on the Board in order to reflect the diversity of the School. This will broaden perspectives and understanding of the societal biases that influence school systems and policies. The School will collect and self-report this demographic information annually. (2020-2021)

  • Prioritize the recruitment of People of Color to leadership positions — Administrative Team, Department Heads, and Programmatic Leadership — in order to reflect the diversity of the School. This will broaden perspectives and understanding of the societal biases that influence school systems and policies. The School will self-report this demographic information annually. (2020-2021)

  • Create two Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Liaison roles that will be annual stipended roles open to faculty and staff to support and coordinate the initiatives and work of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism at the School. (2020-2021)

  • Require each Administrative Team member to set an equity, inclusion, and anti-racism goal related to their area of operational influence and make that goal public to the teams they lead. (2020-2021)

  • Develop a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council of a core group of faculty, staff, and administrators who have demonstrated a depth of investment and knowledge in the work of equity and inclusion. (2021-2022)
