2018 Chop-a-thon - THANK YOU!

Thank you to the entire Park community - students, teachers, and parents - for making the 2018 Chop-A-Thon such a success! Not even a mid-morning fire drill could dampen the enthusiasm of our many volunteers! Families donated 886 pounds of vegetables (surpassing last year's record of 736 pounds) which were washed, peeled, and chopped throughout the day. (Click here for photos)  Chop-A-Thon benefits Pine Street Inn, a shelter serving homeless men and women. The fresh veggies we delivered will help provide more than 3000 plated meals. And, the 119 pounds of compost we generated will help Park's gardens grow.
Here is the veggie breakdown:
209 lbs carrots
142 lbs celery
239 lbs zucchini/squash
128 potatoes
  43 onions
125 lbs green beans
119 lbs composted
