Park Perspectives

We are thrilled to welcome our newest members to the Board of Trustees for the 2026–2027 school year!

Bringing valuable experience, unique perspectives, and a shared dedication to our community's mission, our new trustees will help guide our school’s strategic vision and future growth.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to our new board members as they step into these vital leadership roles:

Polly Hoppin ’74, Alumni Representative to the Board of Trustees

Polly Hoppin’s first service on Park’s Board of Trustees was from 2002-2008, overlapping with her daughters’ eras as students at Park; Emma graduated from Grade 8 in 2005 and Eliza from Grade 9 in 2011. This time, she will be an Alumni Representative to the Board, having graduated from Park in 1974. Polly’s mother, Caroline, was Director of Admissions at Park from 1976 to 2000, leading a major initiative to attract and support families with a range of identities that were under-represented at the school. Someone from her family was in the building as a student or staff member from 1966 to 2011 (her siblings, Alison and Andrew, also attended Park), so Polly brings a long, appreciative perspective on how the school has evolved over many decades.

Polly’s career was in public health, specifically the impact of environmental conditions, indoors and outdoors, negative and positive, on human health. She received her A.B. from Princeton and her Doctor of Science from Johns Hopkins, after which she worked in the non-profit sector for 15 years. She was in a senior role in the federal government for four years and was a Research Professor at the University of Massachusetts for the final 25 years. There, she led a range of grant-funded projects across the country. Polly has served on numerous boards of directors of environment and education-focused organizations. She and her husband Bob Thomas live in Jamaica Plain and are the proud grandparents of 15-month-old Juniper, and two granddogs.

Dorsey Miller, Park Family Association Representative to the Board of Trustees

Dorsey Miller is an interior decorator and artist, and the founder of Dorsey Miller Interiors, which she established in 2011. She earned a B.A. in Studio Art from Skidmore College and continued her studies in interior design at the Boston Architectural College. Her work has been featured in New Old House Magazine.

Dorsey currently serves as a co-president of the Park Family Association. Over the past eight years, she has served on and led various PFA sub-committees. In addition, she previously served as co-chair of the board of directors at the Beacon Hill Nursery School.

Dorsey lives in Boston's South End with her husband, Doug, and their two children, Henry (Grade 7) and Kathryn (Grade 4). Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and skiing.

Emily Neal

Emily Neal is active in volunteer work surrounding child advocacy and family support systems. She serves as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for two children in the foster care system, and she recently joined the Board of Neighborhood Villages. She is also an active volunteer in the Park community.

Previously, Emily worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner at UMass Memorial Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital. She began her career caring for infants and families transitioning home from the NICU before joining the Esophageal & Airway Treatment Center in the Department of General Surgery at Boston Children’s.

She earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University, a Master of Public Health from New York University, and both her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania.

Emily grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and currently lives in Brookline with her husband Jeff and their three sons (Connor, Liam '29, and Rowan '32) and their exuberant golden retriever, Summit, who is convinced every visitor is there to see him. Emily enjoys running, tennis (played with more enthusiasm than skill), hiking, gardening (though her plants may disagree), and traveling with her family.

Adam Sitterly

Adam Sitterly and his wife, Tiffany, live in Cambridge with their daughter, Elizabeth "Zuzu" ('32), and Bucky, their beloved poodle. Adam's Japanese and American heritage has given him an appreciation for the varied perspectives different cultures bring. He and his family are grateful for the friendships and sense of community they have found through The Park School.

Adam enjoys spending time with his family, backpacking in the mountains, fly fishing for wild trout, and gardening.

Adam is a Project Architect with Flavin Architects in Boston, where he designs residences that blend modern architecture with the natural landscape. He earned a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Northeastern University and a Master of Architecture from the University of Oregon, and he has contributed to residential, civic, commercial, and adaptive reuse projects across New England.
