A former elementary school teacher in Boston and Wayland, Shadé joined the Park Board in 2016, where she co-chairs the Educational Policy Committee. As a classroom teacher, she organized and led faculty professional development on pedagogy and literacy instruction, facilitated whole school change initiatives and developed faculty evaluation policies. After leaving the classroom, Shadé worked as a researcher and developer at TERC, a not-for-profit STEM education R&D organization in Cambridge. She received a PhD in Administration, Planning & Social Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She also holds an MS in Education from Wheelock College and a BA in Theater Arts from UMASS Boston. Presently, Shadé is an assistant professor of education at Framingham State University. She has two children, Isaiah (Grade VIII) and Yael ’21.
