Active listening is a meaningful part of academic excellence because it teaches students to focus, think deeply, and show respect for the ideas and efforts of others in venues beyond the classroom.
Whether it’s during Grandparents and Special Friends Day, Community Meeting, Morning Meeting, Model UN in the Upper Division, cross-grade partnerships, ensemble concerts, or Flex Time, students are constantly practicing how to listen with intention. When students listen actively, they strengthen comprehension, empathy, and critical thinking—skills that directly support their growth as confident learners and thoughtful community members.
